T. S. Moore ist ein Streifzug durch die Geschichte der Open Source Software. Er beginnt beim GNU Project und der Free Software Foundation, zeigt die Bedeutung des Linux-Kernels f\u00fcr das GNU Project auf, portr\u00e4tiert einige wichtige Firmen im Open-Source-Umfeld (Cygnus, VA Linux, RedHat, Netscape) und vermittelt anschaulich das Konzept von freier Software.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"stallman.jpg\" id=\"image191\" src=\"http:\/\/www.workshop.ch\/openmind\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/stallman.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Von seiner Machart her ist &#171;Revoultion OS&#187; ein ziemlich konventioneller Dokumentarfilm mit vielen Interview-Sequenzen, und er bringt auch wenig neue Informationen. Trotzdem ist es spannend, Exponenten der Open-Source-Bewegung ausf\u00fchrlich erz\u00e4hlen zu h\u00f6ren, etwa <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Richard_Stallman\">Richard Stallman<\/a> (den Begr\u00fcnder des <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gnu.org\/\">GNU Projects<\/a> und der <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fsf.org\/\">Free Software Foundation<\/a>), <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Linus_T%C3%B8rvalds\">Linus Torvalds<\/a> (den Entwickler des Linux Kernels), <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eric_S._Raymond\">Eric S. Raymond<\/a> (den Autor des Buchs &#171;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Cathedral_and_the_Bazaar\">The Cathedral and The Basar<\/a>&#171;) oder <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bruce_Perens\">Bruce Perens<\/a> (den Urheber der <a href=\"http:\/\/www.opensource.org\/docs\/osd\">Open Source Definition<\/a>). Und es ist interessant zu erfahren, dass bereits Stallman Businessmodelle mit Open Source Software angedacht hat, dass der Begriff Free Software aus strategischen \u00dcberlegungen durch Open Source Software ersetzt wurde, oder dass die Open-Source-Aktivisten vehement widersprechen, wenn man ihre Konzepte mit kommunistischen Grunds\u00e4tzen in Verbindung bringt.<span hidden
