LilyPond ist kein WYSIWYG-Editor wie beispielsweise <a href=\"http:\/\/www.workshop.ch\/openmind\/2008\/01\/02\/musescore-notensatz-fr-den-alltag\/\">MuseScore<\/a>, mit dem man Noten und andere Symbole per Maus in Notensystemen platziert. Das Programm bietet nicht einmal eine grafische Benutzeroberfl\u00e4che &#8211; die einzige Interaktion mit dem Batch-Programm besteht darin, dass man LilyPond-Dateien auf das Programm-Icon zieht, worauf dieses selbst\u00e4ndig Noten im PDF-Format generiert. Solche LilyPond-Dateien sind Text-Files, in denen Musik in einer speziellen Syntax notiert ist:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.workshop.ch\/openmind\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/image14.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"400\" height=\"192\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Man kann sich vorstellen, dass das Schreiben von LilyPond-Dateien einigermassen beschwerlich ist: Die Syntax (die wesentlich komplexer ist, als es obiges Beispiel zeigt) will erst einmal gelernt sein, und w\u00e4hrend der Erfassung fehlt die visuelle Kontrolle des Geschriebenen. Man muss sich also fragen, warum man diese Methode nutzen soll, obwohl es heute eine ganze Reihe von WYSIWYG-Notensatzprogramme gibt.<\/p>\n<p>Das Hauptargument f\u00fcr LilyPond besteht darin, dass das Programm vollautomatisch ein sehr \u00e4sthetisches Notenbild erzeugt, das dem manuellen Notenstich sehr nahe kommen soll. Und wer die Erfassung per Texteditor scheut, findet auf der LilyPond-Website eine Liste mit Sequenzer- und Notensatz-Programmen, welche LilyPond-Dateien exportieren k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n<p>LilyPond ist f\u00fcr Linux, Mac OS X und Windows verf\u00fcgbar und unterliegt der GNU General Public Licence.
