TikiWiki<\/a> geh\u00f6rt zu den h\u00e4ufig genannten Wiki-Produkten im Open-Source-Umfeld. Es l\u00e4sst sich auf einem klassischen LAMP-Hosting-Account problemlos installieren, l\u00e4uft aber auch in einer Microsoft-Umgebung mit IIS und SQL-Server, solange PHP verf\u00fcgbar ist.<\/p>\n

Bereits die Gr\u00f6sse des Downloads (entpackt rund 35 MByte) l\u00e4sst erahnen, dass TikiWiki ein m\u00e4chtiges System ist, und der Eindruck best\u00e4tigt sich, sobald man sich in den Admin-Bereich einloggt: Die F\u00fclle an Features und ihre Konfigurationsm\u00f6glichkeiten ist – je nach dem, was man sucht – beeindruckend bis erschlagend. TikiWiki ist deshalb nur dem Namen nach ein Wiki:<\/p>\n

«TikiWiki CMS\/Groupware is one of the most feature-rich CMS software packages in the World. Unlike other open source projects that ship only a small set of features and encourage 3rd party Add-ons, the Tiki community has chosen to include a very large number of features in the main code base, which helps to ensures that – unlike other projects – when you upgrade, your features will not get broken. It also permits tight integration of the various features and makes it easier for content re-use.»<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Betrachtet man TikiWiki unter dem Aspekt einer Groupware, so ist es sicher gut geeignet, um ein Portal, Intranet oder Extranet f\u00fcr ein Unternehmen, eine Organisation, ein Projekt-Team oder eine Community aufzubauen. Wiki, Blog, Forum, Bugtracker, Bildergalerie, FAQ, Chat, Newsletter, Polls, Web-Mail, Kalender, Aufgabenliste – es gibt kaum eine Funktionalit\u00e4t, die TikiWiki nicht abdecken k\u00f6nnte, und dank einer ausgefeilten Rechtesteuerung kann man den Zugriff auf die einzelnen Bereiche und Funktionen gut regulieren.<\/p>\n

Allerdings wirkt die Benutzeroberfl\u00e4che trotz vieler attraktiver Themes<\/a> (realisiert \u00fcber austauschbare CSS Style Sheets und die Smarty Template Engine<\/a>) ziemlich traditionell und technisch. Wer also eine einfache L\u00f6sung sucht, die sich den Benutzern (und den Administratoren) ohne lange Einarbeitung erschliesst, sollte eher nicht zu TikiWiki greifen, das bez\u00fcglich Komplexit\u00e4t in der Liga von Drupal, TYPO3 oder eGroupware spielt. Wer den Aufwand nicht scheut erh\u00e4lt mit TikiWiki hingegen ein leistungsf\u00e4higes, flexibles und performantes System, hinter dem eine aktive Community steht.
